Quality Analyst

A Quality Assurance Analyst II within the Quality Assurance Department will design, execute, and maintain a set of test cases that is used to validate software systems to insure they meet client or employer needs. they must be able to identify testable requirements, create test cases, and validate them against the application. They will use a variety of applications and must be able to work within a team, with other professionals, or independently.
Responsibilities:
- Develop test cases, test plans, testability matrix and tractability matrix
- Execute test cases and evaluate results against expected results
- Design and prioritize test cases
- Identifies, analyzes and documents defects, questionable functions, errors and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs online screens and content
- Communicate with developers, project managers, and management on testing status
- Retest resolved defects on each release
- Maintenance of system test cases and test plan documentation
- Run QA Acceptance Test
- Take part in project meetings
- Weekly Status Reports
- Bug tracking Reports
- Work to ensure testing is on schedule and identify and work with QA Manager on issues that are delaying testing
- Assist/Complete other tasks as deemed necessary by the QA Manager
- Verify if test plans and other test documentation is prepared
- Provide test documentation and reports to test and project management as required
- Participate in QA reviews and validation of requirements and specification documents
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree plus 1 year of experience; or 4 - 6 years experience in Quality Assurance
- Have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Have excellent organizational, trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to carry out procedures to ensure internally developed software applications meet company standards as well as customer requirements
- Assisting in the on going development and implementation of QA policies and procedures
- Experience with documentation of test results
- Familiarity with MS XP, Windows 2000, MS Office and MS Project
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance Methodology from development through test to production
- Experience with bug tracking software and detail reporting of defects
