Software Engineer

Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer to research, design, test, implement, and maintain software systems to meet client or employer needs. The candidate will use a variety of computer programming languages and applications, working in teams with other IT professionals, or alone. Applicant will be required to occasionally travel to Bethlehem, PA office.
He or she will be expected to work with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, and other project stakeholders to implement application software based on varying levels of written requirements and verbal input. Implementation includes design, coding, unit testing, delivery, and source code management.
Requirements:
- Experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, development, Testing and Maintenance.
- Skilled at problem solving, unit-testing and debugging, including automated test generation using JUnit.
- In-depth understanding of the Java programming language.
- Experience in Dataware housing with Cognos 8./8.1/8.2/8.3/8.4 (Report studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, Analysis Studio).
- Extensive experience with Cognos 8 software including Framework Manager, templates, list, Cross-tab, Chart using Query Studio & Report studio.
- Experience in migrating the Impromptu Catalogs, Reports to Report Net & Cognos8.
- Experience with DBA skills in Teradata DBMS Administration, initial Teradata DBMS environment setup.
- Extensive experience in creating Complex List,Cross Tab,Chart and Dashboard in Cognos 8.
- Experience on Security access to clients using Access Manager and worked with Data Access, Object Access and Package Access in Frame Work Manager.
- Experience in integrating Cognos security components with external security components LDAP.
- He or she must have extensively worked on Relational Databases like Oracle 10g/9i/8i, MS SQL Server 2000, DB2 and MS Access and database access tool TOAD.
- Strong troubleshooting and production Support skills and coordination/ interaction abilities with end users.
- Experience in working with multi-threaded applications.
- Candidate must have extensive experience in creating Catalogs, Reports and publishing of Impromptu Web Report (IWR) and PowerPlay Web Reports to Upfront.
- Expertise in Creating Cubes by using Power play Transformers and using them in Analysis Studio.
- Expertise in OLTP/OLAP System Study, Analysis and ER Modeling, Maintaining Database Schemas like Star Schema and Snowflake Schema used in relational and dimensional modeling.
- Proficient with SQL including Query performance and optimization (PL/SQL a plus).
- Experience in Bugzilla.
- He or she should be familiar with Job spinners systems Along with Go Office , Go Mobile.
- Familiarity with CCMS Database migration.
- Must have knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and methodologies.
- Understanding of classical and modern software development life-cycles and methods. He or she must have experience using SVN source control including branch and tag management.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts pictorially, orally or in writing.
- Knowledge of RDBMS systems and an understanding of data structures, data normalization, and query performance considerations.
