Fault Management & Restoration
Synchronoss' ability to accurately document and manage complex communications asset networks is a critical component of supporting fault management, reconfiguration, and restoration processes. For example, alarms and events derived from a Network Management System (NMS) can be integrated with the Network Asset Management system to proactively visualize areas of the network that may be at risk of a fault. Furthermore, all Synchronoss office and mobile applications have the ability to translate OTDR readings to a map location, which can be used to route a repair crew to the exact site of the anomaly. Other tools within the suite, such as trace to common point routines, allow network technicians to analyze outage calls and predict the likely point of failure on the network or in the head-end, as well as other customers that could be affected downstream of the fault. Armed with this information, restoration procedures can be streamlined and customers notified in near real time.
